Perth Modern School

The Year 12 Food Science and Technology class has volunteered their time in the Foodbank Community Kitchen. Foodbank works throughout Australia providing hunger relief, distributing food industry surplus food to families and communities in need. We worked alongside professional chef David Warren to prepare, cook and package 270 pizzas which were distributed to people across Western Australia who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.  Throughout the day we learnt about elements of product design, packaging techniques and sustainability involved in the commercial production of food. Prior to the day, we also ran a can drive where we collected food from the Perth Modern School community. We all had heaps of fun whilst making a difference to the lives of those in need.
