Year 7 student Kean Lee has won seven medals in the WA State Swimming Championships. Kean won two gold, three silvers and two bronzes. His gold medals were awarded for the 100m and 200m butterfly.

His silver medals were in the 400 individual medley, 200 individual and 800m freestyle. He won bronze medals for the boy’s freestyle relay and mixed freestyle relay.

He has been swimming competitively since he was eight-years-old and trains at least five times per week at Challenge Stadium with coach Rod Palfrey. His favourite event is the 100m butterfly.

“I love the water, I feel at home when I’m in the water and I love working hard,” Kean said.

‘I just want to see where [swimming] takes me, keep pushing myself and keep doing it as long as I am enjoying it.”
